A Brief History
A former Art Director established our company back in the late 1960's. At that time, Omega Studio Rentals consisted of a rather small shop on Sunset Blvd. In the early 1980's, conditions in the prop rental industry mandated a drastic change in the services that were then offered. Omega Studio Rentals rose to the challenge and was able to acquire the inventory of several old and well-established prop houses. From 1981 Omega acquired in chronological order, Modern Furniture Rentals on Hollywood Blvd., Cinema Props (the old one next to Spellman Desk), Cinema Mercantile Company, Ltd. (Omega | Cinema Props current location) along with its sister company Joseph Basch Galleries (C.P. Two's current location). Ready Props and Decades were later accquired. We were then obliged to acquire more warehouse space to house our inventory Beginning in the mid-1980's, C.P.Two was formed to house our restaurant, store and other commercial fixtures. Later, C.P. Three was formed to house our patio and garden furniture. C.P.Four was formed to house our institutional, school & office furniture along with computers and other electronic items such as Televisions and Stereos. In early 1990's we acquired the old First Street Furniture Rental (now C.P.Three). Wild West or Old Western Props have now been added to C.P.Three so we can now claim to offer the largest selection of Props anywhere in the Entertainment Industry.
